Mrs. Truss has eleven years of experience teaching within the Archdiocese of Washington. She has taught 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 6th-8th Science. She has a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies K-8 and a certification in elementary education 1-6.
Mrs. Truss is an enthusiastic, caring person who believes that all children can learn and thrive in a learning environment that is stimulating, comforting, and appropriate to their abilities. She is committed to creating an environment that inspires children and fosters a love of learning. Mrs. Truss is a dedicated, resourceful, and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to every child's social and academic growth and development. She has an aptitude to remain flexible, ensuring that every child’s learning styles and abilities are addressed. Mrs. Truss strives to build student self-esteem and encourage understanding of cultural diversity and physical limitations.
Mrs. Truss is the recipient of The Archdiocese of Washington Golden Apple Award, NCEA Sister Rose Anita McDonnell, IHM Award, and Knights of Columbus Teacher of the Year.
I am excited to embark on my new chapter as the Vice Principal at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School, where I am dedicated to nurturing a supportive learning environment and eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of our students, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom.
